After such a long time with Sweet F.A. for the gamer being released on the Wii in Japan we are finally getting something very nice. Juon! will be released on the 30th July. Check out the promotion video here - http://www.juongame.jp/about1.html July is going to be a busy month for gaming with Ghostbusters, Indiana Jones, Conduit (Sp?) and now Juon. maybe I'll take a month off work. Oh, hang on. I live in Japan were 5 days is considered long. Idiots :banghead: Yakumo
Oh god, a Juon-Game? The video certainly leaves a nice impression... to be honest I have never played games like Project Zero for a good reason: my nerves  I love Silent Hill, but those creepy Japanese horror faces that keep popping up in games like Project Zero or Juon are scaring the shit out of me. Juon seems to be very well done, I loved the movie either. Much scarier than Ringu if you ask me. In a Japanese hotel they had these shutter-like doors that make exactly the same terrifying noise when they're moved as the horrific creature in Juon. The door was seperating the internet-chamber from the corridor and at times somebody opened it to check if somebody was already inside. You can imagine that I was frightened to death everytime that happened
I've seen this video a while back and I made an immediate association to Dementium: The Ward from Nintendo DS. I bet that's what Dementium would look like if it got a Wii port. Nonetheless, Juon looks great. I just hope that the controls will be more like Metroid Prime 3 and not like Red Steel.
I did enjoy Chronicles of Riddick on the Xbox and Goldeneye on N64. Except for those two I can't think of anything. By the way, how many movie license games are NOT 1st or 3rd perspective shooters? P.S. - Check out this list of top 10 movie games, according to some random dude from internet - > CLICK.
Eh, I don't know about this one. While the atmosphere looks good, part of what gave Ju-on its personality was the somewhat disjointed/out of order story presentation. I don't see this being translated into a game easily, even with a segmented level design. I also don't see this one being exported either...
Yes, as others have said, the Dreamcast got The Ring. While it was based on something set in the states ???? It still featured elements from the movie. Not a bad game once you got in to it but it could have been so much better. Then again it was by ASMIK ACE who are not known for producing quality. Well, Maybe Ring Side Angle on the Mega Drive :110: Yakumo
Not a bad game? Come on, Yakumo! Hehe. I know everyone is entitled to an opinion, but The Ring on Dreamcast was everything it wasn't supposed to be. Most importantly it wasn't scary. Everything was anti-climactic and the game sucked at building suspense. I did finish it, though.
Yes, it was a crap game in many ways but I spent most of the time playing it n the dark with headphones on. Then it does get creepy at times. Yakumo
I never played it but it looks a little odd. I prefer Silent Hill 2, this gives me the creeps... without having to conquer these Japanese black-eyed horror demons that shoot well over the top, lol.
A bit OT but I know I was pissed when I played Fatal Frame 2. Everyone said it was so scary and it wasn't scary at all...on top of that it was boring.
That's how I used to play the first Silent Hill. Back then I was living alone and I usually played when it was dark, plus I used the headphones. At some point in the game I started to hear this scratching. It sounded as if it was coming from the hallway, where my apartment door was. I got up, went to check ... Nothing. Back to Silent Hill then. But after a minute I heard it again. It took me a minute to realize it was a part of the ambient sound effects from the game. The way I was sitting and the way the stereo placed the sound [which came under everything else, so it did seem like it was something I was really hearing] made me totally buy it.
