Alright, so yesterday I bought a copy of Steel Battalion and its sequel with the jumbo ass controller and pedals in good condition for $25 USD at a garage sale. The reason I bought these is because I realize that they go for a lot of money on eBay so I thought I'd sell 'em, but after reading about how good these are on Xbox, I'm starting to have second thoughts. I just want to know what's are these games about? Are they as good as many people make them out to be? I don't even have an Xbox. Are they worth keeping?

if you think flight sims are cool but would rather drive a mech, that's what it's all about.

The whole game is a very unique experience. It's actually very hard, even in the early missions, but if you memorize the perfect tactic you will succeed. Anyway, even if you can't clear the game it still is worth every second you spent on it.

You will never feel so manly again!

Do yourself a favour and pick up an XBox on the cheap. Steel Battalion is a game one must play at least once.

Its fun, but the fact that 1/2 your screen is cluttered with the HUD really turned me off.

You could press some buttons to get rid of most of it...

They seem to go for a bit on ebay but last time I looked for one, for just the controllers and game it was around 90$, not too horrible of a price anyhow. My friend has it and I need to play it, you really should try it out.

I always wanted to get this when it originally came out, but it never happened. I'm quite disappointed as I'm sure playing on-line was an incredible experience.

I'd really like to see something like this for the current generation. Capcom might not have made much profit, but at least they didn't loose any money on the two original games. Considering the cult following the games seem to have had I don't see any reason not to do it again.

definitely worth $25. that's for sure. an Xbox is also definitely worth $25-35. pick one of them up asap. you're missing out by not owning one imo.

If it was the unit & game only for $25 I would buy an original xbox and keep them both

You have to have the space to set it up and it takes a while to get the hang of it

So it needs to be out for ages

You may make a few $ on it but for this money, I`d keep it

You should try it at least, if you don't like it there's always time to sell. I think the biggest problem with this game is the space it requires to be played properly. I got it more than a year ago and played it only once as I don't have enough room to keep the controller and it's too much hassle to put it in/out of its box each time.

    I agree.
it requires the fair amount of space to lay down the entire control setup.
Saying that it's fantastic game to play with the PDP in front of desk with surround sound system positioned around the seat~

It's a very good game, but it takes a while to set up and get used to the controls. Once you're past that, you should enjoy it if that's your sort of thing.

Well worth the money, and worth investing in an Xbox to try out (an Xbox is a worthwhile thing to have, anyway! ;-)).

    Don't sell it... Keep it!

It's really cool, and finding something like this for so cheap is quite a rare and cool thing to happen.

I've always wanted to play this game, but it's obvious that no copy existed in my country... ever.

That and the fact that the stupid mech seems to fall over so easily is another turn off.

That means you need to slow down. =P

I managed to find one at a store for $65 so I was happy. I've only felt the need to get out my xbox and this a few times, but they were awesome times.
