About the interfaces of the PSX (DESR) unit

    Hopefully, it'll arrive safely and we'll be able to see FMCB working on it someday...
    (and, I personally hope that we'll be able to replace the HDD unit someday too)

    The coolest part about FMCB on the PSX is... if we do it right, we might even be able to store FMCB within the internal NAND storage instead. Then even those dead PSX units should become usable again without a memory card.

    How different is the hardware between ps2 and psx?
    What's about the psx osd on a normal ps2?

    I just realized this from the Sony manuals that only the DESR-7700 has a i.Link port for use with a DV cam recorder. Who knows, maybe it has a fully functional DMA engine that doesn't suffer from the same "defects" that the retail PlayStation 2 consoles have...
