    It might be a band copying their demo CD legitimately, or some such thing ;-) hehehe!

    Damn, wish I'd known you wanted USB cards. I erroneously kept ordering them at work.. we have about 20!!

    Retro I love stuff like that.

    When I left my previous job I asked for a bunch of miscellaneous computer "junk". They gave it to me and this past week I was in doing some contract work that resulted in me selling them their "old" hardware.

    This wasn't intentional mind you, but it brought a smile to my face.

    DSL line is up and running full speed. 3000mbit / 768mbit
    This translates to 350 kb down, and 96Kb up
    compared to a rackspace co-location that costs $140 for only 64kb.

    This translates to 104 seconds to download 10mb off the machine.

    So I will stress this is for remote access to SORT the files only,
    not download them. Once sorted, I will torrent them, and if we are all
    seeding it should go very fast. Then you can play around with the files
    as much as you like.

    A 5000kbit line (640kb) line is $69.99. Beyond what I can spend.

    The 2u PIII server showed up today I will test.

    The VPN router is good to go.

    I just have to install the OS again, configure the accounts and we are good to go.

    I wound up sorting boxes of games and dev stuffs to even get to the
    punchboard.

    The older compaq system will not accept a sata, ide 133, or even a usb card.I got a cheap 2u dual server that DOESNT have the bios as a partition
    on the hdd. Old compaqs are such junk.

    What model? Some Compaqs had Gigabyte motherboards that could be flashed with retail bios' giving them tons of functionality they didn't already have. Had a k6-2 Compaq that was flashable, many more features but the flash didn't fix the fact it had an SiS chipset in it. Damn that thing was slow.
