I think most who complain that they want a full size keyboard in their netbook, shouldn't be looking at a netbook to begin with. The MSI Wind has a full size keyboard, and a 10 inch screen, but honestly its no smaller than my 13" HP presario from 2 years back. A netbook should be light, compact, and afordable.

I think $399 is the sweet spot for netbook pricing, cheap enough to warrant an impulse buy, but still vastly cheaper compared to a standard laptop. Look at the Eee 1000H, around here its priced at $679....which honestly, for a netbook without an optical drive, single core processor, and small storage, is over kill compared to a standard sized laptop.

And I've used Acers for 2.5 years, and haven't failed me once. Honestly while they may have gotten a bad rap in the past, the One is no worse built than an EeePC, or my HP's

The SZ series are nice, but not exactly a UMPC, or a Netbook, which with 6 other notebooks, would really make me ask myself "WTF" :icon_bigg

Acer's laptop build quality is not fantastic, in that the plastic is not incredibly durable and the plastic will flex. With that said, I know a number of people who have Acer laptops that are years old and still work fine.

The Aspire One is a "big" item for Acer, so I doubt they would've skimped on the build quality (much).

No function keys either...which is odd..

Going back to the One for a sec.....was browsing around, and found out that the One has a semi-multitouch track pad...as in you can "pinch" to zoom in pics and what not, like you would on an iphone.....cool

Nah, all my laptops have been fairly in-expensive, though they are all still used in some form or fashion *looks at presario which now doubles as a media server*

    Whew, what a relief.

While i coincided before that i felt Acer's quality was up to snuff, there has apparently been some concern with the One's. Apparently some One's have died after coming out of hibernate or sleep. Some sort of glitch in the BIOS, which basically killed them.

Thankfully, all is not lost, and the One's can be fixed with a USB key (with a bios on it) and a "special" power sequence to activate the flasher.

This is really good news for One owners, for sure!

I've scratched my order for an 1000H and I'm going to wait for a Ideapad S10. Those look just about right for what I need. Hopefully Ubuntu works great on them too.
