MAS wants $40 for each stick I have to add ps2 compatability.

I assume the 5v jamma button voltages will blow any ps2 board soldered to it, so unless he's using some custom board setup, this is what I guess he is doing. Please feel free to prove me wrong.

    I am guessing either:

Wires the extra buttons to the empty slots he has on the existing cable, and then has you connect a ps2 break box with the board inside it to the end of the arcade cable.

OR he solders on a ps2 wire arrangement, runs it out the back in a seperate cable from the arcade cable, but includes a break box with the ps2 controller board inside it that you connect only when the stick is not being used with the JAMMA box.

OR he uses several switching ICS to select what cable is hot, ps2 or JAMMA.
That would allow him to place the ps2 controller board inside.

Ideas? I really don't want to pay $100 to mail and get the sticks worked on.
That would bump total costs to $450 and I could have bought a fucking arcade machine with that much money.

I would got the quick and dirty option, just gut a cheapo 3rd party PS2 pad, and run wires from the arcade buttons to the contact points on the PS2 pad board. Then just have the PS2 lead hang out of the case somewhere. I did that with a SNES pad and a huge PC joystick years ago to play F-Zero, wasn't pretty inside, but it worked a treat, and only took 10 minutes.

Huh? Don't leave it plugged into the MAS when you're playing on Playstation!

Yes, just butcher a cheap and nasty pad and direct solder. It is quite possible that that's what he does, in fact. Some pads would be almost impossible to do otherwise.

Although, does he have an analogue converter in his? Because you won't be able to do that easily!
