Today for the first time in awhile I went into a GameStop and bought Advance Wars for 17$, used. I checked and everything was intact, but upon coming home, I inspected the card, and it says: NOT FOR RESALE. I feared it was a kiosk demo, but I dunno. I don't have my DS with me right now to try it out. Should I take this back? I don't get why it would say NFR, I don't remember it being a bundle. EDIT: I forgot to mention it's the DS Advance Wars.
there are several GBA NFR Carts, i've seen the Advance Wars too. They are indeed Kiosk Games I have a few aswell. Usually they contain the full game, iirc there is a Zelda Version with only a demo. There should be no need to take it back i think
So is there really any difference other then the NFR sign? It's stillthe same full game? Is this version worth anymore or anything? It seems kind of goofy they'd be selling those kiosk cards. I wonder if I can get them in trouble at all....
Some collectors might drool over your everyday Demo Only Not-for-sale copy of a game. They'll for certain drool extra much if it's like the Zelda - Minish Cap Demo Only Not-for-sale cart, which is not like the retail version of the game.
Was there anything different in this NFR AWDS card? I never played any but this, not even the GBA ones. You would think the dork would have seen the giant NFR sign on it since it's bigger then the games logo!
Lol, if it was a demo I'd say yeah. I don't care as long as it has the full game, it is pretty cool they gave me something odd though. Another wierd thing is that I just looked at the reciept and they rang it up as Kirby Canvas Curse when it was 17$, and under it is advance wars DS sticker at 29.99, so maybe I got a deal!
Well, I was thinking that maybe since it is a somewhat modern game meant for demo kiosks (from what I've seen anyhow),t hat maybe they weren't suppose to sell it or something, but I guess that isn't true as anyone could have brought it in, Hell maybe some punk from Walmart ripped it from a DS kiosk and traded it in. So can they get in trouble at all for selling a NFR that was new, like for example, they take a Wii kiosk Zelda and sell it at launch? (blame the thought of getting them in trouble on my hatred of GS, lol....I know I know I shouldn't go there if I hate it, but sometimes I stop in for sales)
Depending on the chain's contract with Nintendo they could get in trouble for selling a NFR game that was specifically given to the chain *for the purposes of a demo* and was to be returned on demand. If it was purchased from a customer though, no reason it can't be resold. Like I mentioned in the other thread, some of the best finds can be made in the used section at game shops because clerks often mistake rare items for common retail versions. -hl718
Just picking random things off my desk, got a load of memory card socket cleaning cards with a camera cleaning kit.
