I was wondering, are G-Loc and Sky Target part of the After Burner series or are they considered standalone titles?
G-Loc for sure id say, it has Afterburner lineage. Strike Fighter in the arcades was available as a conversion kit for G-Loc, and was converted to home systems (Mega CD/FM Towns) as Afterburner III. As far as sky target goes, i think maybe in before the days where companies would quite hapily maul classic franchises with dodgy modern updates, Sega probably saw this game as a tester for a 3D Afterbuner game without using the name. They didnt until recently with Climax.............tho as for the PSP game, the rule about is probably true haha.
Who doesn't forget that up and down cabinet?! I think it was the first time a company did something like that.
The moving seat cabinet of Afterburner Climax is pretty good from what I have seen, its about as close as a civilian can get to a military flight sim.
