Just to give you a general idea: the person who sent me the message is NOT the buyer. Not to mention this little fact: I just packed up the game this morning (I told her that I was going to send it Wednesday, but some stuff came up). I have a feeling I am getting duped here somewhere.
Make sure you send it out with a shipping confirmation. That way you are covered on the fact the it was sent and on what date.
Eh, so far, I have not heard anything from the woman since I told her that her account did not match the buyers (I didn't tell her I did not send it out yet). I sent a message to the buyer just in case.
quite an interesting scam - I'd like to hear how this pans out. Just from a curiosity point of view, I am trying to see how the person complaining thinks he / she can actually con you.
If you do send this person a refund for defective goods that you've never sold her then I'll be happy to introduce you to this african guy who just happens to know where $30m US is hidden but needs a few tens of thousand to unlock it in return for $10m US...
You shouldn't have contacted the buyer. Because they didn't use the ebay account that they used to purchase it to contact you then you are not obliged to take that third-party email seriously and simply ignore it until they contact you VIA proper email from either the paypal address or from the ebay account.
Just reply asking "what's an ebay?". And then ask where you can get a replacement for your computer's cup holder.
Ask her to send the defective game back, when you recieve it you will send the refund. That is how it should ALWAYS work.
Send them a copy of one of those Nigerian banking scams that Jamtex referred to as a response. Dear buyer, I am happey t0 retorn yur moneeyz but i wouldd like tto offer you a opportunaty to make some money for your trouble. If you would pleese sede me the game in return and include a cheque for 10,000 USD dollers I will have my friend who is the prince of Zire wire you 10,000,000 Dollars US in return to make up for youre inconevnience. Good Day, Ralphy
