Japanese bb guns that fire plastic pellets, look as much like the real gun, cost as much, and scare away women just as good as the real thing.

got to fire off some airsoft rounds at my brother-in-law's place last month, he's up in the mountains and carries the airsoft pistol when he has to walk around his back lot at night, so as to scare off the coyotes.

I think they are very cool and I'm amazed at the ingenuity of some of them. I just can't justify getting one when I can spend a few bucks more and get something real though. If you live in the US I'd be wary about buying any detachable suppressors. Especially if you own a real firearm.

    No, not really.

not really, airsoft ammo are hard plastic balls about double or triple the diameter of a standard BB. BBs are made from lead, copper or tungsten (IIRC)

personally, i don't do airsoft but have friends that do. i much prefer paintball, is stings a bit less (most of the time) but you actually get to see where you hit. speedball is great :D

hmmmm of what i can read then airsoft and hardball is the same thing and i prefer airsoft, vs paintball because the paintballguns i have seen are quite boring in design(sorry if i hurt some one´s feelings , since it is only an opinion)

but to be almost 100 % sure airsoft bullets are round and smaller than a paintball bullet ?

yes and no. paintball bullets come in different sizes (2 that i've seen for myself...dunno if there are more). there's the regular ~1.5cm diameter ones that are the most popular and ~1cm diameter ones. the small ones are meant to be fired alot faster (ie automatic paintball guns). if you think paintball guns look boring, you should have seen the guns one of the guys i played with had. he had a 9mm reproduction semi-auto pistol that fired the small rounds as well as a fully-automatic, 3-round burst and single shot M4 assault rifle reproduction that fired the small bullets too.

I am sorry, but did i offend you? i dont firearms are needed in our society, sure... you needed them when you were being killed by the british or going hunting to the west in the gold rush... but who the fuck needs a fire arm now a day? no 1, they are un needed and only lead to trouble.

My cousin - robbed in armed holdup
My friend - robbed in armed holdup
Person I know at work - robbed in armed holdup
Another person I know at work - robbed in home invasion
My neighbor two houses down - robbed and raped in home invasion (She was around eighty by the way)

Stuff like that tells me that it is better to have and not need than need and not have. At least until the powers that be get rid of that nagging little random violence thing but I don't see that happening soon. While I do think it is better to be safe than sorry the defensive aspect of firearms is a tiny part of why I own them. Target shooting is a much bigger part of why I own guns.

The fact that you don't believe that people need guns isn't why I think your post is ignorant. That is your opinion and while I strongly disagree with it I can respect that people have differing opinions. The reasoning behind your opinion is what I think is ignorant. Statements like "guns only cause trouble" and "I can understand owning a gun when people needed to hunt for food" are basically just knee-jerk reactions with no real thought put into them. The "guns are to blame" response really pisses me off because it completely takes out the free will factor. Like putting a gun in someone’s hands automatically turns them into a mindless killer. That response is so general it can be used for anything. If some kid stabs another kid with a pencil is the pencil to blame? What about if some drunk plows into a car. Is the car to blame?

If you want to have the belief that people don't need guns that's fine. At least have a decent argument to back it up though.

I guess the Army needs to go back to swords and catapults, then. And I guess the police don't need them either.

Lets say a guy breaks into your house, and you have no gun. How are you going to shoot him? Even though guns are bad, you need to defend yourself, since there will always be evil and guns in the world.

BTW, Not all hunters are rednecks.
