The 360 can do 3D ? Did I miss something ? I'm sure I have, I haven't seen anything hyping 3D for the 360 like I have the PS3.
Of course the 360 can do 3D but unlike Sony they don't need to shove it in our face as some big deal. I own 2 games on the 360 that can be played in 3D which are Crysis 2 and Sonic Generations. There are loads more titles out there too. Yakumo
Sony beats their chest about 3D mainly because they have stake in its adoption. They have a failing TV division and are pushing 3D desperately to help it out. Microsoft couldn't care less if it succeeds or not. But yeah, actually most games coming out now offer 3D on one format or another if we count PC. Every game can have 3D if you have an nvidia card and the glasses. And an increasing number of Xbox 360 and PS3 games have it too. I don't have a 3DTV, though, so I can't partake in it. As soon as I can find a decent deal on one I'm gonna pick one up though. I have had the SegaScope 3D glasses since they were released, and always thought the shutterglass 3D effect was awsome, and I'd love to play modern games the same way. I can only imagine how visually stunning Sonic Generations is in 3D.
To be honest, gaming in 3D is just like watching movies in 3D. Just a novelty. It just doesn't seem right. Sure, it looks cool at first but you'll find yourself going back to 2D in the end. Or at least for gaming.
I dunno, the only reason I turn the 3D effect off on my 3DS is because the effect breaks when I move my hand and it takes me a second to readjust. That problem doesn't exist with 3D glasses. If I didn't have that problem, I wouldn't switch off the effect. In fact, sometimes I like it so much that I'll just power through the punishment and keep the effect cranked to high, like with Starfox 3D. I suspect that, much like the quality of each film varies from one another, the quality of 3D also varies. Thus, some games might do 3D better than others. I would expect the ones which tout it so highly probably have paid attention to the effect, and use it for better results. Sonic Gens made a big deal about being in 3D, so I want to see how well it does.
