Hello, it might have been the first aliens game of the ps2, its release was announced for february 2002 before being canceled. It's a team-based FPS developed by the now defunct Check Six Studios in Los Angeles. The only footage I saw was from a beta shown at the 2001 E3. You can download it from here: http://lorezan.free.fr/acm/acm_ps2_e3_2001.mpg Some links about the game: Presentation: http://web.archive.org/web/20020802061121/www.avpnews.com/alienscm/acmintro.html FAQ: http://web.archive.org/web/20011212163413/www.avpnews.com/alienscm/acmfaq.html Interview of the lead game designer: http://web.archive.org/web/20011201231319/www.avpnews.com/community/interviews/acmint1.html Interview of the Fox Interactive producer: http://web.archive.org/web/20020602061238/www.avpnews.com/community/interviews/cmint1.html Has anybody here seen it run? Does someone have a playable version of it? I wanted to play this a lot more than the crappy avp:extinction...
According to the FAQ, the engine is based on a cutomized version of the Maya SDK, could it explain the xbox look?
No, not a "PC" version in the traditional sense. There are a few different middleware packages that are available for prototyping game ideas quickly and getting them up and running. They are designed to allow console developers to test ideas on a PC in an environment that simulates (not emulates) a console. That's what you're seeing here. -hl718
