I've ordered lots of aliexpress repros and asked them the same question. The answer was brilliantly simple, they use whatever they have at hand and don't spend time on looking for the appropriate artwork. However they will print any sticker you want if you pm them in advance, usually for free. For 6 usd you can order a custom cart (homebrew, hacks, betas, etc) with custom artwork printed. For 15 they'll throw in a manual and box with covers. The only downside is that none of the cheap sellers at aliexpress do battery save carts (like rpgs, megaman and so on). I mean they'll do the cart but it won't actually save game progress. There were literally like two sellers that did battery save carts with proper pcbs but they ask around 40-55 usd for cart only.
