A long time ago, a young gamer hooked a 300 baud modem to a computer and began his journey. Deep in the archives of dial up bulletin boards and usenet, exists my ghost. The lack of information about games and obscure hardware was obvious, and a hastily thrown together web page placed on the world wide web became a community that has lasted over 20 years. Over time, I somehow changed from being a gamer to becoming a landlord. No one loves their landlord. I no longer willing to be the landlord. I want to be a gamer again. I am so very proud of what you have built here. ASSEMbler
I'm sure he'll still be around. It is a change in ownership, not a ban. Either way, I'm sure this was not an easy decision to make in the end. Hopefully Assembler can have a break and still pop in around here. Welcome aboard, Admin Team.
I hope the site will continue to thrive under new ownership. Very cool place to ask about rare files and hardware questions
Thanks for everything Assembler, best of luck to you and everyone involved in the recent decision. Do we expect inmediate changes on anything to the site? Rules, functionality, etc. Or just a new administrator to our community?
I think a lot of people (myself included) who have gotten too deep into the obscure side of gaming have forgotten about gaming itself. This really does become an obsession. So I understand the sentiment of wanting to just be a regular gamer again. Plus there's growing and gaining new perspectives, etc., but I won't bore everyone with a huge drawn out philosophical post. I just hope you don't 100% disappear from the internet and become impossible to find. I can imagine a lot of us wanting to catch up with you someday.
Site is under new management and has not been sold. ASSEMbler has decided to step away from the site. There is no reason to change anything. More positive changes are coming. Be patient.
Thanks for all of the hard work you have put into this community. I hope that you can get back into enjoying video games the way you used to. I enjoyed your YouTube videos and like seeing rare items that normally were only in the hands of developers. I found this site because of my unhealthy addiction to Resident Evil 1.5 but it was fun the whole way here.
I think we should at least know who is running things now. Especially considering some of the stuff that is posted/sold here.
im a new member, but i really liek the community so far. i wish i could give more back to you guys and gals.
Just noticed the "Digital Conversation" sections are all going to be removed in 30 days, this is the place with the Propeller Arena, Dead Rising, Acclaim, etc. threads. Not sure why this is the case, but I'm personally against this move. I think they are great sections to keep there and save, a lot of history is there and a lot of entertaining chatter that I sometimes skim.
Agreed. I am a huge fan of the Dead Rising Betas section. There is a lot of good content posted/linked there.
