Altered Beast (PS2), worth importing?

i was reading the vectorman thread over in the Unreleased Games board, and it spurred my memory. "wasnt Altered Beast supposed to come out for ps2?" i thought. and indeed, it did:

so if this information is correct EU and JP both got the game. being that Altered Beast was the first genesis game i ever bought, i have more than a passive interest in the title.

has anyone played it? how import friendly is the JP version? is it even worth my time?



Edit: ah i just remembered AB came with my genesis, so that makes Sonic the first game i bought.
