Incredible. I used to draw Anime a long time ago and it was nowhere near that quality. It's amazing what someone can do if they put their mind and heart into it.

Looks like he's using OpenCanvas + Photoshop. OpenCanvas has a feature where you can watch the artist's every move when making a picture; you might wanna check it out, sometimes it's pretty interesting.

What kind of pad is that? I have wanted a USB pad to sketch with like that for a long time but I dont know what kind to get. My local microcenter has some cheap and expensive ones but I want one that will work well with photoshop. Im guessing like in mice, the higher the DPI the better and more accurate the pen?

What the fuck are you talking about??? I suggested YOU check out OpenCanvas if you like watching people draw anime because it has a movie/replay mode.

*Looks at copy of opencanvas 1.1 b72 on his desktop.*

    Naw I'm good

and I think you're getting confused.

The first part of the video (the elf looking chick with the blue top and blonde hair) could've been recreated via snapshots/saves throughout a session and animated from there.

and openCanvas is far inferior to Photoshop when it comes to creating a good deal of super high end image files, namely cause it can't save in proper lossless formats like TIFF or PNG

I NEVER said the video used the movie tool, I was giving you a FRIENDLY POINTER. Opencanvas and Photoshop are apples and oranges. Opencanvas supports PNG. You are HOPELESS!

    I'm hopeless....

Because you keep making assumptions about what I know and what I don't know.

You're hopeless because you're starting something over your own failed reading comprehension and spewing bullshit in defense.

What an incredible talent, all the more impressive given the artists personal situation. It certainly doesn't hold him back and he clearly likes his bikini clad babes!

    Photoshop CS looks great!

    1. The show (The Art of Digital Painting) , and website for the show ( http://www.fujitv.co.jp/cs/program/7395_017.html ) both list the art as being created on a Windows XP computer running Adobe Photoshop CS. Why the hell would they ask him to redraw everything in another program so they could record the output?

    2. The scene you seem to think was done in openCanvas was done in Photoshop. Even according to the commentary of the episode, and the graphical representation of what tool he's using at the time to make the sketch

    3. openCanvas, as far as I can tell does not have a throttle button for artistic playback.

    4. in the scenes were we can see the monitor, the tablet, AND the canvas were done as I said. By feeding the video card output of the PC into a VGA converter box and into a standard recording device.

    5. In openCanvas, playback of a drawing DOES NOT include a representation of a pointer moving arround the screen.

You say I have failed reading comprehension? If that's the case then you have failed reading period.

So I'm wrong about the video using Opencanvas, oh well. Doesn't excuse the fact that I NEVER said that the video used playback from opencanvas and I even refuted that a few posts up and you're STILL dwelling on it. Go back and read them because you obviously never have thoroughly.

Again, I thought I'd mention Opencanvas in case someone, in particular you, who started a thread about anime, hadn't already checked it out. That's not quite a fuck in the eye is it?
