Have a read of this thread over at Xbox Scene. It details the process of making the slot loading Xbox 360 that was featured on Engadget/Gizmodo/etc. some time ago. It should hopefully give you most of the information you need.

So, anyone fancy attempting this on a Dreamcast :033:

Why are most you Tube video makers pathetic with a camera. If you're going to make a video to show something off then turn on the fucking lights!

I PM'ed the guy ages ago, he used the drive mechanism (I think it was from an old Mac) and replaced the drive unit etc with the one from the PlayStation; which logically, is the only sensible way anyway.

Someone did similar with a DreamCast a while back, using a PC drive, was very thick but worked fine.

It's cool, but i never liked slot loading on consoles. Top loading is way better.

I wonder how difficult that would be to do. I know I can get a iMac G3 slot loading drive for dirt cheap off of ebay. That would be the easy part, the difficult part would be making the top part of the case, that was very well made and looked sleek.

I like it in this case because of the concept behind it, I understand the appeal of the top loading because it has fewer failure points, which is a huge plus!

I would still love to be able to do this mode as it seems really neat . . .
