Well, aparently amazon has a portable, time-bending worm hole, cuz they already have the PS3 for preorders, and even the final MSRP: $299 Holy pedophiles Batman! they said it was goin to be expensive! and I already sold my liver as JTI2K told me to do so! Well, it isnt official, and Im sure the cause is the overflow of mescaline in Amazon offices, but WTH, they have it, and theres even some customers reviews! I excitedly installed my new ps3 the moment I got it. Boy was I happy! So, I hook it up, turn it on, and suddenly the lights go out. The thing shorted out my house's electrical circuit... Long story short, I am screwed out of 1000 dollars and my wife divorced me. like this system is so amazing!!1one! it changed my life! it healed my mom! No joking here, those are ACTUAL reviews from the console If you want to go and start talking shit like Hilary or any gangsta rapper, heres the Link
I know Amazon quite well -- it's common practice to do this in order to harvest the maximum amount of people that are interested in the product. They are doing this with most console releases actually, Amazon is usually the first site on the web to have a price tag for a console. If the price changes to a higher one, they will already have collected all these potentially interested customers, and will send them an email about their order being on hold until you approve of the higher price. so i would say this is much more a business strategy than proper information about the PS3 price tag. tubo
I won't get it, for one. Unless something close to a force of nature makes it absolutely indispensable for some reason. Like Front Mission or Chrono something (if they don't suck). The price, though. That has some logic. This will sound like politcs but it really isn't - It's an explanation of why the price change might be feasible if it is true. See, the governor of Jalisco, my state, is absolutely corrupt. He, for example, owns a lot of the public transportation - and thus profits with it. It's like a monopoly - since you HAVE to take the bus. Thing is, the units are falling apart, the drivers are absolutely insane because they get paid nothing and cannot complain, and, there still was an announcement of a large price hike. Who announces this? Mister RamÃrez (the governor) does. Why? Because, first, he anounces the large price hike (to FIVE pesos, from 3.50), and the people in charge of public transportations take the heat. Then he plays "hero" and "negotiates" the price hike to "only 4 pesos". In the public mind, this is seen as alright and taken without any protest, because it's less than the 5 pesos originally planned. Result? He still gets a huge profit, and the people don't complain because even then, it's not five pesos, even if there was a price hike. Now, we're going out on a limb to assume the actual MSRP of PS3 will stay 299 - but people are more likely to pay it now, if they originally heard Kutaragi himself say it would have been a hell of a lot more expensive. If they go to 299, it would be a logical marketing move. Even if the original high price wasn't real, it'll be a bargain in the people's mind. Then again, it's also very likely to be speculation by Amazon.
I will get one when it doesn't look like shit, silver never makes a console look anything other than cheap.
I have to get one. didn't get a ps2.. so I've missed lots of nice games =/ so I thought that I buy all those games I missed and a ps3 when it comes out ^^
That's equivalently what I'm planning to do when revolution comes out. Never did get a Gamecube. True, it's hard to pull off silver. And true, the PS3 is looking even uglier than PS2 did in its day. Yeah, should it ever become indispensable for me to get one, I'll have waited enough for there to be at least 2 generatios of faulty ones, and probably a design change.
Yeah, me ALMOST too You see, my parents bought me one of the first western PS2s, and like the 70% of those machines, it DIDNT FUCKING WORK! :die So i return it, got my money back (A LOT, since there were very few units and were sold like two times their actual MSRP) and like 4 or 5 months later the GC came out, with a special price pack (it came with luigis mansion and a memory card, all for the price of an standart GC). I was thinking in buyin an xbox, but those fuckers did it AGAIN and was overpriced, like 800 bucks :-( Anyways, I been kinda depresed with videogames since the DC went down, so i didnt give a damn for the PS2 and xbox, and now i regret of that, cuz the new generation is coming and i missed all the (few) cool games of this generation.
I know what you mean, comrade. This generation depressed me to bits. I was actually depressed before, when it started, though, but still, the lack of good games was a killer. Hell, I didn't have a PS2 for a whole bunch of months, and that was sort of more depressing, having already bought the games. Still, this generation is the one when I've been interesting in buying less games, ever. I still need to get Disgaea, La Pucelle and Phantom Brave, though... I miss good RPGs. Nothing like the 16 and 32 bit days, huh?
16bits were the golden age, but 32bit in my opinion was 100% hype. Maybe RPGs, but the rest of the game couldnt be done in the correct way becos of the lack of power of the consoles at that time. Look at GT, its a pixel soup....... In my opinion the Dreamcast was the videogame Renaissance, and we blow it up.
i think the silver gamecube is the best looking one, and i think the ps2 is good looking, but not the ps3. 16 bit was the golden age, 8bit silver age and 32 bit bronze age. you mean ps2's hype blowed it up. :ayashi
