    Hi all,

Was wondering if there were anyone who returned something that was not ideal for them.

I stupidly bought a projector from Amazon that isn't right for my size apartment.. it's ok but people walk in front of the picture blocking it off.
So in a party situation it isn't great.

What I should have bought (only found out after) is the next model which has similar features but has a short throw! It costs a little bit more (ichi man) but its the perfect one (at the lower price range) for my size apartment.

Amazon returns lists unopened/unused returns are OK within 30 days but obviously the box has been opened to try.

Am I to just suck it up as a failure to properly research before buying? Or is there something I can do with this?

Unless a projector exists that allows you to place it 6 inches from the wall I think lack of thinking might have been an issue.

I've returned stuff back to Amazon Japan many times. just sent back a double order that was my fault with out any problems. You say that you have opened the item though so you may be better off saying that the item is faulty. Either way, Amazon will send you a returns number via Email for it.

Yes it was lack of proper planning. I bought it last minute for my birthday and didnt research enough.

I have a coffee table that is ideally placed to have the projector sitting on the end of it and the end of that table is about a meter away from the wall.

The "short throw" that the second projector has could very well be good enough to ensure no one walks past the bugger (bearing in mind i cannot put holes in the ceiling to put a suitable attachment, and also sometimes ill have it in the bedroom).

Yakumo, thanks for that - do you have any advice on what to say without them being too funny about it .. like the " colours seem off" or "the projection distance isn't at the advertised length" seem a little weak ..

Apologies for a bit of stupidity..as APE mentioned, lack of planning

Well, first off write your comment in English, NOT Japanese. This way they instantly accept the return due to not being able to read the message. For your comment just write that the colours are not as expected or that you are not happy with the over all quality.

Amazon are really cool to deal with so as long as you have the original packing and it's in new condition they should accept it back with no worries.

I would just say it is faulty in some way or unsuitable :) I've always returned things to Amazon that I'm not totally happy with and they have been commendable. MP3 players with slight niggles, computer mice that suck, iPod Dock.. if I'm not happy with it, I don't see why I should support the manufacturer by keeping my purchase.

    Amazon rock!
