I just saw a preview airing of American Dad, and I was a little worried at first. Didnt laugh for the first 10 minutes, but it started to kick up, later. I liked how Family guy would go on tangents all the time and show lots of Hilarious flashbacks, but they cut down on American Dad. Characters Cant remember names American Dad-FBI guy that shoots stuff at the slightest provocation. Goldfish-Perverted Goldfish with a German guy's brain in his head. Daughter-A liberal who hates the NRA, and so on. Son-Your basic Class-B nerd that cant get a girlfriend. ALien-Fat Alien with man-boobs that loves to eat sweet snack foods. Wife-Blonde chick. It was pretty funny. The first part had some dumb jokes, though. "Look at this! I have an eraser for my Penicl shaped like Osama Bin Laden! The pencil goes up his pooper! HA HA HA HA HA HA" I went :smt043 about the purse stealing scene, though. That was freakin' funny. Did anyone else see it?
Saw it. Laughed my ass off in some scenes. I miss family guy and comparing this to that show. I'm sure this show might survive longer because it made fun of muslims instead of jews which FG has done quite a few times. But that's stereotypical bullshit. What I mean is, the show isn't as edgy as FG, so it has a shot in surviving a few seasons. My favorite scene was that purse snatch you mentioned. My second was when Bush was talking to God and God was telling him to keep their relationship to himself and right at the end God had to hang up on Bush because Cheney was on the other line. :smt043 :smt043 . Third scene was when he bought the half dead dog and the son was walking it, err, I mean dragging it lol.
It was okay. It just needs some time to get the story along and hopefully it will be as good as Family Guy. Anyone eles think it's weird that they're showing both shows starting May 1st?
Family Guy is still alive. Or so the commerical said. It will have New episodes on the 1st of May. Im glad more people can appreciate Cartoons, now.
Really? Commercials a few weeks ago said they were starting May 1st, because they weren't done yet and showed the production drawings with voice overs.
Thanks for telling me. I need to Watch Fox more often... They messed up my Tv "Schedule", when they moved The Simpson's and King of the Hill to 6:00 P.M., instead of 10:00 P.M....I always forget. I gotta write a new one. Seinfeld for 1 hour then Fox for 1 hour. :smt043
I think the reason why people hate the first episodes so much is due to the nature of it: It always focuses on the family for the most part. Once it gets a solid support cast like family guy had, thats when it will get good. Personally, I liked the first episode of American Dad. While the kids are generic, the Father, Mother, and Goldfish were pretty funny. The son was OK, while the Alien and Daughter were annoying. Definatly worth a watch for any Family Guy fans, though. A repeat comes on next Sunday (Or Saturday, I forgot) on Cartoon Network.
THey also took skits from old FG episodes into this one. The way the Goldfish feels about the wife is like that one episod in FG where the dog is in love with the Wife, but in this show its a standing presence.
american dad = half peter/half joe swanson mom = louis goldfish = brian alien = stewie, both are sorda gay intellects son = meg daughter = chris for the most part yes? i laughed at it a good bit, my gf though the alien shooting out goo was hillarious for some reason hehe
