CD32 NTSC version used to be rare

NTSC version CD32 units regularly appear on Ebay. At the time that Commodore shut down, they had thousands of NTSC CD32 units sitting in storage in the Philipines which is where they were being manufactured. They actually go pretty cheap on Ebay nowadays, but I remember during the early to mid-90s, these units were thought to be lost or destroyed and people were paying outrageous prices for the NTSC version. The unit can play PAL games by doing the mouse button trick posted above, but I think it only works on a compatible monitor that can support that mode. I know it works on my Commodore 1084S monitor. Also, there are a few PAL games that just don't work on the NTSC CD32, no matter what you do. I think it is a cool system, but really nothing was released for it that you can't get on floppy disc for the Amiga 1200.

I have a few of them, the NTSC ones are uncommon, but like 3do, worthless. Maybe $60 for one, and they are easily found boxed.
But like anything on ebay, as the collecting scene gets bigger, prices go up.

Games will be like collector cars someday, so expect prices of everything old, even 3do to rise.
