I've got a hodge podge of equipment due to the death of the amp on my old Logitech Z-680 setup. Currently I'm using an Aiwa AV-D58 as a 5.1 receiver with the satellite speakers from my Z-680s hooked up. I still have the sub from the Z-680s sans amplifier circuitry that was latched onto the back.

I've determined which wires go to the speaker to drive the sub and it does work for sure. Problem is that the Aiwa reciever only puts out a low power signal for LFE usage and I need an amp to drive the sub.

Any suggestions in the <$100 range? I don't mind building the amp myself as the sub had a high pass filter inside the case and it looks like it'd work just fine. The sub itself is rated at 380w but the receiver can only output a total of about half that, which should be fine since the receiver isn't built to drive subs anyway.

I did try to fix the amp on the back of the sub as it was the hub for power and took the input from the control pod blah blah blah.

Long story short one of the $5 amplifier mosfets had become toasty and a few caps had blown. Wasn't worth trying to fix it so I trashed it some time ago.

For $100, you could get a regular home theater sub.
