    still I'd like to see manual scans of a little bit higher quality that whats available on the net....... and perhaps some more photos of the inners :)

    I actually have one of these arriving in a few weeks that I've acquired. It says it originally came with MS DOS 5.0 and Amstrad Desktop Operating System, I've never even heard of or seen Amstrad Desktop? Is that the name of the actual OP on this thing?

    Yes you can read the hard drive its nomal ide.
    I have the dumps of offical ms dos 5.0 amstrad.
    I will upload them.

    IDE? What does that mean? Sorry I am not very au fait with computer lingo. I am able to successfully post this message, but that's about as far as my computer skills go.

    Amstrad Desktop (aka CheckPoint) was a pretty basic MS-DOS frontend that really wasn't worth the time. It was essentially a clock, a calendar, some basic word processing software and a file manager (IIRC). The actual OS is MS-DOS (it didn't come with Windows, you had to install that separately).

    IDE is a way of connecting hard drives in older systems, as opposed to SATA. You often see the drives also marketed as PATA or Parallel ATA.
