I recently aquired a pal saturn for £10 no box but all the equipment and 4 games was there along with some promo material that must have been in the box when it was bought. In the back of the small books is a list of common peripherals that would be on sale now two things are here 1. Sega saturn photo cd never saw one of these in the UK did anyone else? 2. the description of the 4mb back up memory card made me chuckle "supplements your saturn's memory and and stores game data with 4mb of back up ram. Essential for soprts, RPG and other titles with the special "save" feature. And its four times more powerful than the back up memory of another games system we daren't mention..." how little they knew
Have you seen the Dreamcast promo video from the eXistenZ PAL DVD? it has a bored kid sat on a sofa, and his PS1 chucked in the bin.
I know of a store in Antwerp that had 84 of these in stock last time I checked (Tachi's copy was bought there, too). They are right though, but "powerful" is not really the right comparative in this case. The PSX memory card is 1mb.
One of the early Dreamcast TV adds here in Japan actually had a few kids saying that Sega was uncool and that PlayStation (or Playsute as they called it) was the cool item to own. A very brave and quite cleaver add I thought since it showed that Sega were aware of the position they were in and needed something to fight back with in a whole new way. Just a shame they didn't have enough cash to hype up their machine unlike others. Yakumo
It has been visible in loads of photo's I have put up here, but here you go: Flash made it look paler than it really is, but it does need a touch up. Only problem is I have "rare" antibodies that the blood service really want, so I feel guilty every time I have something done.
Is that the one or two disc version? The version with the bonus disc is a lot harder to find. (well not anymore if those are the 2 disc versions) For anyone with the Saturn power disc 1 or Core demo disc (which are 100% the same bar disc art) try loading the Fighting force demo with the analogue pad inserted. Good for a laugh. Oh and the mouse on the pal box wasn't released :'(
I know, I gave blood again last week, and they took the usual pint, plus 1/3 more for testing to see if I still have them (and for tissue typing for bone marrow transplant register thing and the usual testing for diseases)
http://segatan.hp.infoseek.co.jp/htirasi1/segasaturn02.jpg I found that while looking for a picture of a crowbar on google image search
Yeah, that's the one. I think there are about 5 or 6 of hem. Before the Dreamcast and just after the end of Saturn there were other Sega adds on TV that I just don't understand. Maybe GaijinPunch could shead some light on to them. basically there's a woman in a cardboard home in one of Japan's underground stations shouting out a load of crap about her life then says something about Sega. There are two of these adds with the other being a train conductor instead of the woman. I have loads of Saturn radio adds too if anyone wants them ripped. They're in Japanese of course. I may also rip all the Segatasan Shiro adds since all t he ones on the net now are from crappy cini pack or True Motion rips. I have real MPEG ones (Maybe EVERY ADD !!) plus the making of the Christmas one. If there's enough interest I'll rip them. Yakumo
It's the one-disc version I'm afraid :-( And the mouse was released in the US, right? (for Netlink use)
Yukawa was SEGA's sale management, or something like that. There is a Yukawa game also, Yukawa Search for the Treasure. I was playing it some days ago. PD
