Angry Video Game Nerd: The Movie Just curious. Is anyone from AG supporting it? I chipped in some bucks, just for saying thanks for the last few years. Not expecting much.
I'm a huge fan of his, but I have yet to donate. I do, among like 20 other people, help moderate a channel where there's AVGN episodes all day, every day. I've always wondered if James Rolfe is a silent member of the forum, or at the very least a lurker.
You know what, last week I just started watching AVGN for the first time ever. I'm really enjoying it so far. I've watched all of the 2011 shows and halfway through 2010 now (Yeah, going backwards). I wanted to donate a bit of cash but just noticed that the donation time is over in 3 hours and I'm stuck in work using 3G. No way am I accessing paypal with my phone. Maybe I can still throw a bit of cash his way later on. Yakumo
I haven't donated, but I'll be buying the DVD or buying a ticket to go see it. I would of loved to donate, but I just don't have the money really. All his fans donated so much money already, it's nice to see that James makes videos thanking his donators. I really can't wait to see this, all his episodes are great and have passed a lot of time for me.
I wish I was able to donate. I've been a fan for a while and I've spent many, many hours watching his stuff. I'm really hoping he'll do a screening in LA or something.
I've seen all the nerd episodes, but I doubt that the movie can be any good. Count me in for a surprise hit, but to me this concept doesn't seem like it's suited for a feature film. I always got annoyed when he tried to implement more plot than actual game footage/hardware documentation like in that awful Bugs Bunny episode. I really like his attitude towards film though and therefore I'll probably support him by buying the DVD or watching it in the cinema if it's ever shown here.
He mentioned that the movie won't be a 2 hour game review. He went to film school afterall. He's making a feature film starring the Nerd character. It's already been talked about that the movie involves the Nerd and the awful Atari ET game. You see the Nerd out in the real world, not just in the basement. I'm very interested in seeing it. I'm hoping for the best.
Did he really raise $325,927? How do taxes work when you recieve that kind of money from donations, not actual investors?
FUCK THE AVGN. He blocked me from his you tube channel for no reason. I've never commented on his videos or even spoke with him. I like his shit and all though. But Really blocking me from commenting on your channel when I never said anything at all on it EVER? What's that say about James? Feeling threatened by a certain new Video game show on You Tube? NAH....can't be that I'd be too full of my self for suggesting that. ALTHOUGH I think you all know this about me from my posts here... I'm alot angrier than he is. Actually he's angry...I'm more Psychotic rage
He mentioned about tax in one of his recent videos. It's all above my IQ to understand how taxes work.
Unsure about Mr Rolfe, but tt certainly says you don't do your research, considering it's Mike Matei that operates his YouTube channel.
Maybe he has been a forum member here for longer than we thought, and maybe all of his reading through post's has given him enough background info to predetermine the kind of things that originate from your keyboard. ;-) I never chipped in cash towards his movie endeavor, but I wish him all the luck needed. Somehow though, I am having a hard time seeing this turn out better than any of his Youtube "shorts". Hoping I will be pleasantly surprised if it ever comes to fruition!
What? AVGN was a member of our community? What name did he use? GOH, are you sure you never posted anything on his youtube videos by mistake? I can comment on his videos if I need to (I haven't done so though) and I've been doing Retro Core for almost 6 years now. Yakumo
I think CrAzY is just humoring GOH's idea that James would come here and decide he needs to rip him off =p AFAIK James made his first Nintendo Nerd episode and put it on a VHS for friends a year or more before even making it public on the net. So like, 2003~04? I won't pretend to know anything about GOH, but has he really been doing videos that long to begin with? Plus even James admits doing game reviews wasn't anything new, let alone getting mad in your reviews. Only difference was he was actually good at it.
