I really like old cartoons/animes like this, the style, stories and the hand-made felling of it all. :)
Just a shame that most of it is all propaganda movies.
btw. what's up with that page? Don't know what it says, but judging by the pics it seems to be a pretty weird page ^_^

It's refreshing to see something pre-Tezuka for a change. Someone should make a 1920's cartoon filter for 3D games, I'd like to see some M rated platformer or something use it, the first 5 minutes of Mickey Mania didn't cut it for me.

One of those characters REALLY looked like Felix the cat.

Has any anti-American WWII era stuff ever popped up? I remember seeing a very non-PC episode of Popeye from that time.

Hmm, interesting. So, what was the first anime in the Manga-esque style that we know today?

Well, I've heard that Disney's Bambii inspried the big eye trend, and I think I remember someone here saying that their Japanese teacher said Astro Boy was. Or that could have been on another forum.

Ahh, of course, Astro Boy! Hmm, never heard (or thought about) the Bambi theory - interesting! Thanks for that!
