for those who care. she killed herself this morning. swallowed a whole bottle of 800mg sleeping pills. or thats what the wiki news article says http://www.showbuzz.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/02/08/people_late_great/main2449770.shtml
I had a weird feeling that was what happened before I even heard the cause of death. Wonder if the pressure of her career got to her...
Yeah, I first heard about it this afternoon (came on as breaking news on TV). I feel sorry for the family, especially her newborn baby.
She was the woman that married that 100 year old guy wasn't she? Still, its pretty sad when anybody takes their own life.
Mmh... on german TV, they said she got a nervous breakdown after which she died on the way to the hospital. Anyway, a tragedy indeed. Especially because she suffered so hard in the past due to her sons death and so on. I'd have wished she were able to start a new, more successful life after those strokes of fate, but it seems like not.
While it's sad, I'm actually kind of glad that her child will have a different parent. Anna Nicole Smith has never really struck me as being a model citizen.
Regardless of our opinion of them, an unexpected death is always sad.... especially if she did indeed take her own life. She was in New York in October when I was there, doing the whole meet and greet thig with a smile. I guess you never can really tell what's going through someone's head.
No, I didn't mean any disrespect. It's sad that she died, and it was pretty shocking when I found out earlier.
You want to know what's really sad about this situation. The amount of time the media is wasting on this when there are far more important stories to be reported on. As I'm typing this the story is being reported on CNN, Headline News, MSNBC, CNBC, and Fox News being hyped as breaking news no less! What the hell is wrong with the media when something as trivial (and it is trivial) as this gets hours and hours of news coverage when it barely deserves to be on the crawler at the bottom of these channels. We are living in some fucked up times and this is just one more sad testament to how warped are priorities have become.
I'm glad that someone else echos my sentiments. It is a tragedy that she died, for sure. But at least now maybe the kid will have a chance at a normal life with normal parents. Its a stretch, but I think odds are better this way. Anyone who watched at least five minutes of her tv show should have felt overwhelming compassion for any of her offspring, and the fact that they had to live knowing they had "that" for a mother. After reading more about this, I notice an odd "trail" of death here. Her 80 something year old millionaire husband dies. Battle ensues with [millionaires] son. Son dies last year. Then Anna's own son dies next to her in the hospital. Now Anna. The curse of Trimspa  True that. At least google news has it straight and hasn't devoted any more than a small tidbit in the entertainment section to it.
My thoughts exactly. When I heard "anna nichole smith" died, I stopped to think, oh thats the drug addict whore. Then I thought to myself, how is this big news? Did all those nasty wars suddenly finish up and this is all that's left to report in the news? I mean seriously why do you interrupt regular programming to say some celebrity died. I mean I could understand if something like a head of state died, but a celebrity? If that doesn't tell you there is something wrong with the world then nothing will.
Eh, the media has always been the selective type on how they overhype things. Sort of the issue with kidnappings: You only hear about young, white women who have been kidnapped or disappeared. Another similar one was Dale Earnhardt; the media wouldn't shut up about that one for weeks.
Living in the east I have no idea who this person was. Was she on TV, a writer, politician or just someone who married a 100 year old guy as I read above. Yakumo
she was some star that was known for trimspa and constantly going up and down in weight. i never followed anything she did really*and yet i made the thread.haha* and about it taking over the news. unfortunatly in todays world celeberties are more important than anything to alot of people. and its retarded.
Sad and unexpected, I'll always remember her for the Trimspa commercial where she threw money out of the car.
She was a playmate of the year-model in the early 90s. As far as I know (because I didnt follow her every night and day either), she was also an (average) actress and talkshow moderator. And she didn't marry a 100 years-old guy ^^ I didn't know about that so I googled a bit and... he was only 63yrs old!!
