A friend of mine is going to buy a next-gen system one of these days, but although he likes the 360's games etc, he won't get one because he knows it will break down - and he cant bother with the guarantee every now and then, so he's getting a Wii. MS need to do a lot more than that price drop
Hope your friend enjoy's his Wii's reliability.............As it sits there gathing dust............................From lack of decent games to play  *oe admires his very own Wii doorstop*
well he's a rabid fan of mario party, mario strikers, metroid 3 and zelda. I see no reason why he'd get bored =) That said, I do enjoy my 360 demos, especially Bioshock and Stranglehold. OE, how come you're not selling your Wii?
I know what you mean. I think I've spent more time playing demos and DVD's on my 360 than actual, full-release games. Mainly because they're f-ing expensive.
That's purely the reason why I don't own one  There are loads of games on there that I'd love to have but having to piss around sending consoles backwards and forwards isn't my idea of what buying a console is all about. Yakumo
In the US, they say tomorrow Office Depot will be offering the Premium 360 with a 50$ rebate making it 299$. I kinda get the feeling they are trying to burn off old stock don't you? And my personal experience with the 360 only involves one dead system so far. Some may have horror stories of lots of dead systems but I believe you'll avoid that if you get a replacement plan at a retailer so if your system dies you get a brand new unit, opposed to whatever crap M$ sends you back.
However, you then have a 1 in 3 chance of that replacement dying. Not good odds, unless you are making a bet on the horses!
If I'm anything to go by there must be a lot of people like your friend. There's no way I'm going to put up with having to replace the console over and over no matter how good the games are. The Wii looks interesting but I'm concerned that decent games are going to dry up and it will be like another N64. So I think I'll stick with my slim PS2 for the time being. Not very good hardware but lots of more than decent games
