Apart for the son was an evil shit and lawyers for being slimely enough to try the defence that their client was addicted to video games and was wasn't responsable for his actions. Good for the judge to reject it out of hand.

 

While it did involve a video game, I don't think its really the games fault. I think this guy has mental issues, or his parents were insanely strict. But playing Halo EIGHTEEN hours a day? Thats almost as bad as a friend of mine's obsession with Halo 2, if not worse.

He shot his parents because they wouldn't let him play Halo? Thats just childish and extremely retarded. I think this thing was the straw that broke the camels back in that house. I mean, no excuse for what he did, but...I have a feeling that theres more to the story.

I can't wait for the next scapegoat to finally step up and take over from video games, because I'm tired of hearing the same shitty excuse every time some lunatic does something stupid. Shit, where is Jack Thompson when you need him - he'd have seen a direct cause & link between this dude playing Sonic the Hedgehog and murdering his parents, I am sure of it!

The guy clearly has serious issues, you don't just wake up one morning and decide to kill both your parents and no computer games I know PUT that idea into any sane persons head either.

This is ridiculous and can't be blamed on videogames becuase unless your really young your not going to pick up and and pretend to be like someone in a game without thinking about what your doing.

The way i set it is he didn't like the fact his parents stopped him playing halo so he wanted to get back at them by killing them and its got nothing to do with the actual content of the game being guns and shooting.

 

a lot of people commit suicide or kill others in relation to love/sex/jealousy, i don't see anyone blaming condoms.
