How many of you have refused to buy the game because of 'Online Single Player' and no LAN support? (Am I the only one?)
well i havent purchased it because im waiting for next months pay/scraps... other than that i think you are the 0.000000001% I agree, id like LAN support, but lets be honest, at this stage in the 21st century, i cant imagine anyone without an internet connection. even when away from home, mobile devices provide sufficient bandwidth for online gaming...
You're not alone, that's for sure; though I must admit that another reason I didn't buy it was I don't want to pay the full price... I love Diablo, but I can wait until price drops a bit.
The DRM is pretty annoying, but I can't imagine too many people care about LAN support...well, I could be wrong, but the last time I looked at my calendar, it was 2012, not 1995.
I'm going to be the one that says I like the whole online always thing. It cuts out the whole 'Man I've started playing using this single player character and now I want to go online' problem. Its a good concept and as I've said before if it allows Blizzard to make money (on a pc game is hard these days due to mass piracy) I'm all game.
You're not alone, I refuse to buy this because it's just like Starcraft 2 with the "always online" bullshit, I do a lot of traveling and it's during these trips I like to play my pc games, I could connect to a trains wifi (when there is one) or take a 3G dongle thing but why should I do this when I've already bought the game?...I even got a refund for Starcraft 2 for this exact reason.
I suspect the DRM will be patched to be less horrible once sales slow a little. Assassins creed was the same. Blizzard have also done this before - Warcraft 3 got an official patch to remove the CD check.
That's how I kind of feel about the game so far. I might play through with a couple characters, but it's just so linear. I was originally not going to buy it because of the DRM thing, but I got it for $30 so I figured I'd try it out and could sell my account later if needed. The DRM has pissed me off on several occasions though. I was at the very end of a dungeon, and got disconnected once which meant I had to redo it. I've also had several instances of severe network lag despite having a perfectly good connection.
