GP2X has like 4 commercial games or something like that, only one of them isn't crappy. The design of the 2X is not for commercial games, if it was the company would be bankrupt since you really cannot compete this late in the game with Sony and Nintendo... And as for Daedalus, it is slow as hell, and not many games work, and honestly I don't see it ever getting past 15fps for most games other than really low poly ones. I got a 1GB SD card for like... $8. You can also get 4GB cards for about $20 sometimes if you know where to look... But yeah for real games I have a DS and a PC, but that is all to personal preference, I am saying if you are only getting the PSP for homebrew, then that is kind of dumb. If you are getting it for commercial games too, then that's not a bad idea. And as for a web browser, the GP2X has Qtopia which comes with a browser, and you can hook a USB wifi adapter to it for wireless... I'm not sure if it can output widescreen but I know it has TV Out. Oh, and when you say the '2X has mostly tech demos and the like, well, you're pretty much wrong, since we have a pretty decent PSX emu, (considering there is no 3D acceleration, and it is on a 266mhz ARM CPU with no FPU), fullspeed GBA, SNES, NES, GBC, Genesis, Neo Geo, Mame (depending on the game of course), Master System, and Atari ST and Amiga run at a good speed too.

In fact, I am typing this on the PSP browser right n- *out of RAM*

If you actually read what I said:

Then you pretty much validated my whole argument. Thanks for that.

If you wanted a toy to develop on that was easy to develop for, and you already knew how to program for linux. Apparently the 2X devs are doing something right because with no FPU, a slower CPU, and a slower CPU architecture altogether, they are able to pull off the same FPS on nearly all the emulators the PSP runs too... And as for 3D acceleration, how many emulators require that?

Bottom line, it's mostly a geek toy.

Nah, that's fair enough. If I was being sarcastic it's because the PSP still seems a better deal, since it offers more at a very similar price point. I mean, they're both geek toys if we're talking homebrew.

If you take a look at the hardware specs you will see that the gp2x have more raw cpu power thant the psp, the neat 3d hardware aceleration have nothing to do on 2d games.
