Hey Guys I want to play some online poker with my buddies but all of my check cards are in the US and when I try to make a deposit it sees that I'm in Japan and it blocks the transaction. Do you know if any of the pay ISP hiding services can get around that? I've heard it won't work on all sites. Are gambling sites that advanced where I cont get around it? Thanks, Eric
No I'm using a US card and address to pay, but I'm back in Japan now. I just decided to use instant messenger with a buddy of mine. I gave him the info and he logged in for me from the US. I just needed to do it once to deposit money into the poker site.
I normally use babelfish.altavista.com, if the page is already in english then choose chinese to english translation. smf
They probably check if the IP you are connecting from is an open proxy, in which case they would block it. So, set up a proxy in the US that isnt running on port 80,3128,8080 or other common proxy ports. Shiggsy
Thanks for your help. I'm actually going to get the proxy anyway so I can watch college football on ESPN.com. They aren't offering it outside of the US anymore....fuckers.
Actually, new wrinkle.... I was at ESPN360.com which is where the games will be shown. But it's saying that I can't sign up because I'm not with an internet service provider that subscribes to ESPN360.com. So it's not just an IP issue, I need to make ESPN360.com think I'm signed up with an approved ISP provider. Any tips?
Get a friend in the US to be your proxy. I don't know the way you'd do that, but Google should help you.
Sorry for bumping this "old" topic, but one thing I noticed is that no one mentioned the security risk in this. When you use a public proxy keep in mind that you also transfer your personal and financial data over that proxy If you really have to end up doing it the proxy way (which is probably the only way to get around this as mentioned earlier) you should really ask a friend to either sign up for you or to setup a private proxy for you. Using a public proxy for this seems very dangerous.
So I need a service that keeps my info private? I'm assuming that they have packages offering that at most proxy ISP companies? Or is it not tht common?
Not common, ISP's that you can trust usually don't offer this service.. so the only thing left are dodgy ISP's/groups as far as I know. The best thing would be to ask a friend in another country to set one up for you to use.
