    Compact AC Adapters for Famicom

    Has anybody bought one of these adapters? http://www.amazon.com/adapter-FC-SFC-MD-PC-engine/dp/B004IWS1RA They look kinda like one of my cellphone chargers, where I might have to use that prong converter. Is this an alternative to the crappy 9v generic adapter or is it just as bad? The ebay listing says it outputs 10v 850mA, though I'm not sure.

    That looks like a switching power supply design. It's compact because it's electronic, not using a linear transformer like the original power supply, which allows it to be very, very small and power efficient...

    I did some eBay searching, since I've decided on getting a Genesis model 1 soon as well. There's a guy in France named "transistorjedi" on eBay selling electronic power supplies also formatted for American plugs. http://www.ebay.com/usr/transistorjedi?_trksid=p2047675.l2559 Has anyone bought from him? Should I consider this over an official Gen 1 power supply? It looks like his feedback is top notch.
