Reporting for duty, sir! Like I said in the other thread in the trade board, I assumed your original question was about the save RAM cart, not the memory expansion. It sounds like the "Sega 1 to 4mg" refers to the latter, though. To clear it up: There's 2 different types of cartridges. One is the "backup RAM", which allows you to save games. The other is the "expansion RAM" or just "RAM cartridge" which actually increases the system's work memory - it is only useful for games that support the cartridge, like X-men vs Streetfighter, Streetfighter Zero 3, Vampire Saviour, KoF'96 + '97, and the like. Get the backup RAM for your RPGs.
Well, get those if you have no other option. I heard some bad stuff about the Interact ones, though. Oh and *don't* get the Action Replay with the save function, you cannot save directly to it (only copy savegames from the internal memory) and it's unstable as hell.
I use a Japanese memory card with my PAL Saturn without problems. Also, I have used a US Netlink on it so I don't think it's a problem in general (getting the Netlink disc to boot without PAR was a bitch though)
Thanks :smt023 I won a few Saturn games on Ebay recently, one of them being Albert Odyssey, and I was hoping my JPN Memory Cart I have would work with my US Saturn.
Sega is pimping rayer: Dragon Force the CD only for 40 Dollars as we speak. Now if only I could get a photo copy of the manual. Nice disc art.
Nah, I'm happy with my Dragon Force, Deep Fear, Jewels of the Oracle, Burning Rangers, all JP Street Fighter games (except the crappy movie game), Soukyugurentai etc... but I'd love Albert Odyssey and MKR, sadly those weren't released in Europe! :angry
