My god.. F1 fever has caught up in my country. The 1st ever night race.. And yes its a street race. Everywhere jammed. argh.. I never new my country has such nice skyline and night views till i saw those footage from the helicopters. lol.. Anyone catch it LIVE on TV yesterday? Practise session. Tonite is the Qualifying. Tommorrow is the actualy race. By the way.. Im a Ferrari fan. Schumi fan to be exact.
I watched as much as I could from the practice session as I was using a proxy server and the circuit does look nice, I just hope there is some racing and it doesn't turn into the yawn a minute race that valencia was... the circuit does seem more unforgiving in places and hopefully a few crashes will happen or hopefully Kimi and Felipe spinning a few times or missing a braking zone. As I was a Minardi and then a Super Aguri fan I don't follow any team as such although I do like to see Trulli, Fissi and Barichello do well.
Yep. I'm a big fan of F1. Anyway, the track does seem to be good. Just hope it won't be a race decided on the pits. As team fans, it depends on the time. I used to be a huge Lotus fan (those John Player Special black cars are the most beautiful racing cars of all time). Then i became a Jordan Racing fan. I was a Stewart Racing too. Of course everybody that liked F1, cheered for Minardi. Then Scuderia Toro Rosso also has my support. PS: Good place for F1 History Info. Info on GPs, Teams (racing or defunct) http://www.allf1.info/ Results and Statistics http://www.chicanef1.com/ Not so famous Teams and Drivers (it contais very rare info) http://www.f1rejects.com/
Im a fan of any REAL racing, NASCAR could dissappear tomorrow and i wouldnt care less though. F1 is entertaining to watch, and they actually turn left AND right:lol::lol::lol:. Wow i hate nascar, lol.
I am an F1 fan, not missed a quali or race (on tv) so far this seaon. I do have a leaning to want Mclearn to win the drivers title but i wouldn't say i'm fan of any specific team or driver. Heiki has not done too bad although he does tend to have good qualifications but doesn't always do that well in the races and was good to see Sebastian Vettel win in monza.
What you guys think of my Home Circuit? lol.. the views, the lights, the scenery.lol its like the pride of my country for the moment. haha i like Schumi.. a pity he retired,i was hoping of a dream team of him n Kimi a Ferrari..
It looks cool. Great scenary too. As for Schumi, yes he was a great driver. But from the ones i saw, i prefer Senna, Prost, Lauda, Mansell, ... A big ray: to all of them. Those were the ones, that in my opinion, made the sport big as it now.
It looks like a great circuit, just hoping it will be a good race with at least a handful of retirements due to tangles, driver error and Ferrari engine blow ups. It hopefully won't be a Valencia. Valencia was probably the dullest race I have ever seen, with very few retirements and the race being decided by lap 3. I think the F1 Rejects podcast best summed it up in their podcast when Enoch said he fell asleep during the race and fell asleep again watching a replay that he could watch at anytime as it was so dull. My favourite team was Minardi, loved the black and yellow cars back in the mid 80s but also loved Super Aguri (sob!) and like McLaren. Favourite drivers have to include Pierluigi Martini (did wonders in the minardi), Takumo Sato (for some great drives and crashes), Luca Badoer (for being the unluckiest man in F1) and Aryton Senna (for the sublime driving that was Monaco 84 and Donnington 93 to name two races) . Favourite season was 1991 when Martini got the Minardi to the front row of the grid and by the number of teams that raced (19 which included teams like AGS, Fondmetal, Lambo/Modena, BMS Scuderia Italia, Jordan, Footwork and Leyton House), ah I wish F1 had better coverage then as it would have been fun to see cars pre-qualify.
Yeah. Senna was amazing. I've seen some videos of full onboard races and qualifies that makes anyone go h: The whole country cried his death. On that racing day, i woke up late. When i turned the TV on the race was underway but i was like: "Where's Ayrton. He's not on the top 10?!?!! Some minutes later they showed the vt of the crash. At the moment i kinda knew he was gone. I had the same feeling on last year's Kubica accident on Canada. Thank god the cars are more safe now. Anyway, for cool F1 videos of the golden era, go here: http://www.f1archives.com/ I forgot to mention that i used to like Zakspeed too. I even use the nickname ZakSpeed on a brazilian motorsport messageboard Favourite era?! From 1982 till 1993. Worst season i watched? 1994 and 1995 Not so famous drivers i like? Martin Brundle (liked his aggressive driving style), Roberto Moreno (a fantastic driver, on shitty rides), Stefan Johanson (usually forgotten but good driver as well), Thierry Boutsen, Alessandro Nannini, ... Ukyo Katayama was "famous" here in Brazil. People here used to make fun of his name and call him Ukyo "Catagrama" (something like "gets grass"), because he spent most of the qualifying and race not on the asphalt, but out of the track (on the grass). Oh, the pre-qualify times... It used to be very entertaining reading all about it.
There was once,.. I remember.. Many cars retired and schumi just cruise slowly to a win.. I think should be. But that race sucks.
Thats one of my biggest memories from child hood. (well when i was 8 or 9). I used to buy the comics and stuff that came out after he died and before i moved.
Well.. another 7hrs more to actual race. The public transport (Bus,roads, subway are all packed). The media hype it up. The stars are coming down. It really hit fever pitch. Even the heartlands can feel it man! lol..
Schumacher's last race is in my opinion the best F1 race i've ever seen. And trust me, me and my dad used to watch F1 alot! Period.
Guess what guys. The sky is dark.. Not because its in the evening.. but seems like rain is comming! Will we see a wet and night street race? Another 2 more hours!
The one that his car retired when he needs to win it to beat Alonso for the World Champion? Btw where is Ralf Schumacher.. Didnt see him around.
Is the 2nd or 3rd time (this year) that Ferrari screw things up. OH: Why in the hell they kept use that damn light system instead of the "lollipop"?!!? The same thing was going to happen to Coulthard, but in his case the mechanic simply put the lollipop on his face, making him stop. Massa got a green light, and even though it became a red light again, he wasn't looking there anymore. PS: Honda need to be slapped. Barrichello managed to pit (his only pit planned) before the whole mess, and would probably manage to get into the Top 5. I hope he goes to Red Bull or Williams next year.
Barrichello threw his gloves to the fans and ended up in Singapore river. lol.. The local fans joked that he will get fined for ''littering''! haha The safety car was awesome man.
