Well powering it on with out the heat sinks on you have just destroyed the CPU and or GPU!! Sorry but, Well done!

That is now an "X" box!

The CPU can't be replaced as it's married to the board. NEVER switch on a modern device without a heat sink that needs it. It will instantly fry the die!

Well in the above picture you're definitely "using" the console!
I can clearly see the motherboard of an Xbox360 XDK with the power cord plugged in and turned on without any heatsinks attached. The Xbox360 does produce a lot of heat on relatively small die area. The heat will kill the die almost instantly (well it takes a few seconds in reality...) when it's turned on. I don't know if the CPU and GPU get powerered up if the console is in a RROD 0003 state but if it does provide them with power (and that's what i guess it does) you almost sure just killed the board.

You can of course try to get a reball done but after a few "repairs" using a heatgun and eing powered on without heatsinks attached i guess there is not much life left here.
Well and that's just if there is any chance to repair it at all!

What VaNDAL means is that the CPU is married to the Nand. Or better the encrypted content of the Nand.
You can of course replace the GPU against a same revision retail part but the CPU has the special fuseset that makes it a Development kit CPU.

Keep us updated if you can get it back to work!
And please just leave the heatsinks installed to the board the next time!
You most likely did more damage to the board when removing them than if you simply left them on.

Well you can swap GPU from different Xbox but no the CPU. Also while the console is in RROD state the CPU and GPU's are powered on. Try putting your finder on one or both of the die's then turn the Xbox on. Let us know if you get 3rd degree burns or not? If you don't it's knackered.

Thats bullshit. You can swap the CPU. You also have to swap the nand with it. And may change some resistors near the nand.
The best solution is you give the console to someone who swaps the CPU and Nand to a retail board.

@Stipo360: When you hear a short buzzing sound when you power on the Xbox 360 than you f**ked up the GPU completly.

You can swap a CPU with a replacement from the same manufacturer then use a new paired NAND, but that would be useless for an XDK as a new CPU + NAND combo would cost the same as complete replacement board and exponentially harder to find. A retail CPU will not work just because it will be on a dev board (at least as a devkit) as it is still burned as a retail unit.

You can have the GPU replaced and showed work fine if everything else is still good. I know that xJonnyGunsx on YouTube does Reballs but he is moving atm and he is in the US i'm sure you know him.

Depending on how much damage you've done, it might not even be repairable, and this is coming from someone that does these types of repairs. 0003 does usually equal to a dead GPU, and also if im correct, that motherboard will be using a Xenon GPU (had quite a few Zephyr kits I reballed that will not work using the HDMI GPU). Before reflowing it, you should have removed the expoxy, so the chip could get some wiggle space for everything to be nice and snug. You might also end up with some never ending issues such as 0020, 0102, or 0110 which will almost never go away no matter what you do. Just some heads up, and good luck!

have you checked the mosfets? I've read that 0003's can be caused by a faulty mosfet.

It is said before, running a cpu or gpu without heatsinks is bad, but it wont *instant* kill it. it basicly can do a "reflow" (EDIT, no, no reflow.)
but better check with a pro reballer and/or get some new CPU/nand or GPU (i think starting with a new GPU to see if it helps. )

XeChris: https://xbox-experts.com/errorcode/E03/0003/ ? Then Mosfets and voltage checks are a "cheap" fix if they where

EDIT: See Bad_Ad84 comment. its definitly only temporarely and not good for the board and cpu/gpu.

No it cant. To reflow it needs to hit around 230c, it will die (and therefore stop generating heat) long before that.

Most likely warped the motherboard so the damaged solder balls make contact again. its also why it never lasted very long.
