alot of people say the 32x was one of segas worst mistakes but in my eyes there some quality games heres some i liked

tempo: beautiful visuals solid gameplay albee albee a little confusing at times but i think its atleast worth alook if u like 2d platformers

doom 32x version:while not the best version of doom its still a decent port the graphics look nice and it plays like any other doom game although the music was terrable

knuckles chaotix: this one often flys past sonic fans heads and its a shame because its a solid platformer with good graphics unique gameplay (where u play as 2 characters) and introduced the chaotix to the sonic universe and its pretty much the only game where knuckles is the star of the show not sonic

space harrior: a very good port to the classic arcade game its proberbly the only port thats closest to the arcade (i havent played the sega saturn port)

what sega 32x games did u like

Space Harrier & After Burner II, the only two reasons for the 32x to be so cool back in 1994.

They say that after the 32X launched, Star Wars was critical that Christmas season for promoting the 32X. Atleast I recall reading that from someone that was interviewed. The 32X had some decent games. It's problem was it didn't have the full support it needed and it was a very strange stop-gap measure that proved to be unneeded. The Saturn was released too soon for the 32X to have been worth it. Instead it likely hurt consumers and made them think twice before buying a Saturn.

I liked Star Wars too. I was actually thinking about the 32x a few days ago and I think it could have been successful if SEGA Japan had not released the Saturn in the USA and stuck to selling the Saturn in Japan only. If the 32x add-on had just transitioned to the Neptune design with no release of the Saturn stateside, I think it actually could have done better than the N64. Sega had a good rep then and although the original Playstation would have eventually overrun it too like the N64, it could have realistically held second place over the N64 and 3DO. That would have given them a much better public perception to then release the Dreamcast.

Or could have made the 32x like a separate console it could've sold better and everything that momosgarage had said was true then yes Sega would be still successful to this day so i agree as well too! :)

Star Wars while short is a really nicely made game.

Virtua Fighter and Virtua Racing were also good, perhaps not in gameplay terms but from a technical stand point at the time.

That's because you already have. As a Sonic fan I love Chaotix. Just a pity it was rushed and never finished properly.

Virtua Racing was good on 32X too if you like Sega's Arcade ports. Of course the Saturn version outshines it though.

Interesting some people feel sega should have delayed the Saturn. IMO, it was unnecessary and only removed hype for the Saturn - and in the long run, caused NEGATIVE press. The release dates between the two was far too close - 6 months. The 32X could have been a big contender if it was released earlier - maybe a year to 2 years prior and at a lower price point.

The earlier release would have given third parties more time to develop for it. All in all, despite having a few good titles when you look at the bigger picture it was honestly an unnecessary release. Look at new consoles now - the PS4 and XBox One were fully unveiled in May and launch in November.

Think about that time frame - that's like if when the PS4 was announced, Sony said "But if you drop $200 you can get an add on giving you a PLAYSTATION 3.5!" No one would bite - they'd just wait the six months for the full next gen console.

You haven't lived until you've played Slam City with Scottie Pippen on 32X.

It's as good as Affleck in Phantoms, yo. ;)
