I'm a huge fan of the EA skate franchise, and remember reading somewhere that the first game was originally planned to be a sequel in the Skate or Die series. It turns out that a Skate or Die sequel was indeed in development by Criterion Studios. I've searched around for more information on the project, and here are two pages that every other result on Google is biting:

    VideoGamesBlogger

    GamesTM

The GamesTM article mentions more information in the 100th issue, but I can't seem to find it on the web. Do any of you guys know anything about this game? I can't even find out which console(s) this was being developed for! The only screenshots I could find are on those two pages. The one on GamesTM really intrigues me, as the game looked pretty far in development. If anyone here has any more info on this, or possibly an alpha/beta (I've got the money if you're willing to part with it), and would be willing to share PLEASE let me know.

If I can gather enough info, I'd like to write an article in time for Go Skateboarding Day(June 21st).

Odds are they rolled the assets into another skate game.

Assuming that Skate or Die was being developed for Xbox/PS2 (Burnout 3 being the game developed in it's place for those platforms), that leaves at least a 3-5 year gap in development time between this and the first Skate, not to mention the game switching developers. I don't think much beyond the concept would have been carried over. SoD was apparently a closed-world style game, and Skate completely open-world. As for being tied to any other skateboarding game, I don't believe there were any being developed besides the Tony Hawk games in that time period. I may be wrong. I see where you're coming from though, with EA owning (?) both Black Box and Criterion. As a matter of fact, the first Skate was supposed to feature a waterfront area somewhat similar to that in the "Dogtown" screenshot on VGB.

Why such trivial things interest me, I will never know.
