Couldn't find much info on this CD I just purchased, I've never been much of a PC guy: The seller claimed: "Super rare Golden Release on Microsoft Company CD-R. This was an original company copy prior to sale to public and was not for resale. It was given to me by a former Microsoft employee, who was one of the first few hundred in the door and was a multi-millionaire when she retired. She gamve this to me to try out before it ever went out." Anyone have any more info on this sort of pressing? Again, I just don't know enough about PC stuff to determine the origin. Thanks!
Wow, awesome! I'm a huge fan of The Neverhood (one of my favorite games, actually). It was an incredibly inventive and inspiring game for me. This is a great find. I'm guessing this is the gold master disc from which the game was put into production. It'd be interesting to compare it with a retail disc to see whether or not there are any differences.
^ this. At least according to the label, it should be the golden disc, so no difference should exist with the retail game... Still, it'll be nice if you try it and let us know Or if you can at least provide a directory/file listing with size in bytes (and preferrably some kind of checksum) so we can confirm the theory.
