So after my 5 week tour of South East Asia, I'm heading down under. Any members in Australia who would like a visit let me know. I'm going to be based in Cairns to begin with but should be moving around over the months.
If you're ever down in Tasmania, flash me a PM and maybe we can sort something out. Probably won't be able to help out with a place to stay, sadly, but I could definitely organise a few beers and a BBQ. Where are you from, anyway? EDIT: For those who don't know - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tasmania
Not really looking for places to stay just thought it would be cool to meet with some fellow Assembler enthusiasts while i'm out and about. I'm from the UK. I'll stick Tasmania on the list of places to visit.
I've been told several times by different people that it is easy to get stuck on the Australian fruit picking farms that students/travellers often plan to work at for a week or so. They've said that basically they rape you on accomodation and the ruralness of the place means that the only entertainment is drinking so that they couldn't afford to leave. Just a warning, make sure you have sufficient funds or get a bar job etc in a city rather than in the sticks.
Just something I've been told by multiple people, don't know how true it is as I've never been. I know at least one of them said they went to South/Western Australia when it happened. Is the east known for stuff like that or is it just what you know of the Western side?
