I love strange things along the lines of Osamu Sato's works, and have played all of his accessible works. Do you guys know of any other weird, strange, or unusual games like his? EDIT: Should this be posted in Rare and Obscure Gaming?
There's Vib Ribbon, which is also weird, and the Irritating Stick games (I think only one was released in the US, but it's based off some part of a Japanese game show and I know there's at least one other game from it). I can't think of any others, but I'm not huge into the bizarre PS1 games that didn't come to America.
I'm guessing it's not quite as random and bizarre (have yet to actually play LSD myself) but The Path can sure be freaky and surreal at times - pretty fantastic.
It's not really similar to LSD, but it's similar in that it's pretty weird. Basically you press buttons and weird stuff happens. Some buttons teleport you to different places, and they're arranged like a tree (there's a chart you can look at during the game). You're supposed to navigate the tree in order to get to the last one. I've never gotten that far, so I'm not sure what happens at that point. If you pick the wrong button, sometimes you lose a life or something (it displays some text, which I can't understand) and then you have to go back to the beginning. The majority of the game is just watching animated sequences where weird stuff happens. Here's some gameplay footage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1oYeNsxI6t8 The intro is pretty weird yet awesome. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8eI7IYx3Y8
http://www.segagagadomain.com/mega_cd-info/switch.htm I think it was only released in Japan, and if I heard correctly (from I think a Game Sack video, and that's not the best source on games in "moon language" (their term for Japanese) around), the story is that every button on Earth is messed up and does something vastly different from its intended purpose.
