I'm planning to mount a Raspberry Pi into a slim Playstation 1... "Planning" as in, I've ordered all the parts before I start, to make sure it'll go to plan before I start the project. But I'm wondering if anyone has pics of a similar project that's been well executed, neat, tidy, and done well. Really just looking for ideas, based on other peoples mods, to see if there are things I can do differently, or better. Mainly interested in the PSone, but I guess any other small consoles could be applicable to getting ideas. Thanks!
Snes has been done. Know it's not a ps1, but there's all sorts of info and supplies out there for an snes pi, including using the original controller. You could probably use the info on that to rig up the controller ports and get some ideas
what would be really cool is if you incorporated a CD drive into the mix, so you can load games off disc too!
I plan to include a bluray drive, and 2.5inch HDD inside the PSone, although I'm not sure if games or movies will actually be able to be loaded from the blueray drive, but we'll see!
The Pi supports my USB iomega CD-RW drive but I haven't been able to access the drive in Raspbian. You should be able to load games as long as you can access the drive.
The pi will not work with a blu-ray drive. There's just no good software for it and I doubt raspbian will be easy to get it to even see it. It's hard getting the pi to even work with external hard drives consistently as it is. Is there a specific reason to using a PSone?
