I'm up for adding RGB to my Saturn and DC, any recommendations for sourcing cables? I've spotted the following on eBay: Saturn Dreamcast Any thoughts or recommendations?
I had my eye on the Kuro, but couldn't see an adapter available so I can plug it into a SCART socket. If you offer one I'd certainly be interested though, it looks like a great adapter. I'm running mine to a CRT TV via a RGB to component video transcoder, so I don't need the other features your other adapters have, and the Toro is overkill even if it does have a SCART socket onboard. Mind, if I was running my DC on another display it'd be a different conversation though!
For my Saturns, I've purchased cables from retro_console_accessories - eBay seller. I don't see any listed now, but you may want to inquire about acquiring a cable from them. Quality product. Their eBay store: http://stores.ebay.com/retroaccessories?_trksid=p2047675.l2563
Thanks guys - I reckon I'll grab a set of DC and Saturn cables from thefoo.83 as they have both in stock.
Greetings from Brazil! I made my RGB cable for Saturn and use it with a M1721A LG monitor. Pics and tutorial at: http://tabalabs.com.br/videogames/saturn/cabo-rgb/index.htm
No Strogen, it is RGB in 15 KHz VGA is RGB signaling with 31KHz horizontal frequency An arcade monitor (or a television) uses 15KHz horizontal frequency Some LCD monitors accept RGB signal with 15KHz horizontal frequency in the VGA connector, some monitors are: LG M1721A LG M1921A Samsung 510N Samsung 710N Samsung 910N Samsung 910T These monitors can be connected to RGB thru the VGA port to any videogame or arcade machine that uses a 15KHz RGB monitor (e.g.: TVs and most arcade monitors)
I'm still kinda new here. I have a "Samsung SyncMaster P2370HD" it's a monitor/TV with HDMI, Component, VGA, A/V, Composite, RF and DVI. How would I find out if my monitor/TV supports this mod?
Unfortunately, testing with a 15KHz source... There are generators around the net who outputs 15KHz RGB, you can build one and test.
Seconding these guys, I've bought many cables from them, always been high quality. For DC cables, I've noticed sellers on yahoo auctions who have VGA cables that don't need the big box if you're looking for a less bulky vga setup.
