I picked up a couple of games, but they appear to have mould inside the box, I wiped it all off, but I'm wondering what would be best for treating this as I am feeling hesitant about keeping them in my cupboard as they really smell quite bad, I wrapped them up in the mean time but now they are really smelling my cupboard out, I'm thinking to take them out and put them in "isolation" for the meantime as I don't want to risk the smell/mould spreading before I have a chance to ensure it's all clean

So any advice on what I can do, I have read online about using cat litter or baking soda to get rid of the smell, but is there anything I can use to make sure the mould doesn't come back without damaging anything

I've posted on removing mould before - have a search in this forum. Essentially, baking soda in Tupperware, a raised grille to put the item on and leave it for a month or two.

I collect many things, a few of which are Vinyl Records and Cassette tapes. I often deal with musty record sleeves and covers. I use Lysol spray a light mist on microfiber cloth and wipe everything down. Then I leave everything out in the sunlight on a window seal. (several days of sun) Repeat steps if necessary.

No no no, That would be a catastrophe! I only sun bath the paper products.

( I wash moldy records and hand dry) unrelated fix but sharing

Well the baking soda didn't do all that much to remove the smell, it might of helped prevent it growing back.....but I can't really know that unless it grows back then I know it didn't work........as for the smell I ended up just putting those dryer sheets in the boxes and between the pages on the manual for a couple of hours.......replaced the smell with overpowering lavender....but that smell has now pretty much gone and they aren't stinky any more :D
