I don't really keep up with the current sports teams but I love researching teams of the past and these documentaries are fantastic. I watched "You Don't Know Bo" the other day and I had no idea how much of a beast he was before his injury. Just a genetic freak! Anyways for those who haven't checked it out and might be interested they do a great job of gathering interviews of people closest to the subject matter and seem to give everything a pretty fair shake without much bias. I'd recommend checking these out: The Greatest That Never Was (Marcus Dupree) Michael Jordan Rides the Bus You Don't Know Bo Without Bias (Len Bias) The Fab Five These are just a few that are really well done, in my opinion. The latest is "Elway to Marino" which I hope to watch today at some point.
I thought Jordan Rides the Bus was disappointing but I recommend 9.79* (about Ben Johnson) and Once Brothers (about Vlade Divac and Drazen Petrovic), which was really great but also very depressing at the same time.
You Don't Know Bo is amazing! However, and I'm sure everyone here will feel the same, the inaccuracies the interviewees had when discussing Tecmo Super Bowl were cringe-worthy!
Ah I forgot about 9.79*, that was a really well done documentary too. I love how the guy who was head of the drug testing decided to retest the samples from the 84 Olympics and stopped because the results would have stirred up some controversy. Why didn't you like Jordan Rides the Bus? I liked that it gave you a more indepth look at that period of time and how people perceived him trying out baseball.
I always knew Carl Lewis was a smug douche, and that documentary was just more confirmation. Just the opposite, I didn't think it was very in depth and lacked anything that substantial about what happened behind the scenes.
