Going by the guidelines I like to think this fits under "built in intentional failure" I've got a Super A'can game where the battery is soldered in, because as we all know it's logical to assume the battery will never need to be replaced and they have a longevity of forever, right? Anyway, it's one of those housed inside a little disc compartment, I hope you know what I mean. I've got another cart and it's got the same thing, only they had the sense to not bother soldering the damn thing in there. So I'm looking for someone to desolder it so I can just slide a battery in and out of there as I need it. Anyone that does this service around here? I'd do it myself, but I've got no experience soldering except for a Saturn modchip eons ago, and this is a battery, so it's not smart of me to be messing around with a solder near a battery with how little experience I have.
APE might be able to help you. You should PM him, I could do it, but I'm in the process of relocating.
It's probably doesn't make sense for me to do this for you (given the ocean in the middle), but I've replaced batteries loads of times, would be happy to offer this service to anyone who needs it.
 I've never opened one of these carts before but I can't imagine it's anything complicated. I'm also located in the North Bay so dropping it in the mail would mean it'd get here the next day.
