I try to collect coins from countries I've visited. Feels a bit more genuine than to buy a t-shirt that says "Paris", "Sang-kao-lao beach" or whatever.

Yes! Mostly silver and comemorative coins, although I do have some old coins stashed away in a box. I used to collect circulation coins but they're far too common, I could go on ebay and probably buy them in mint condition for little over their circulation price, so I never really bother to let them pile up. One thing I am interested in however is error coins, they're coins which have defects either by machinery mistakes in pressing or by human errors where the wrong metal was used. The only circulation coins I collect are error coins and fake coins, although I got rid of most of my circulation coins again because they're too common. Anyway here's some photo's of the main parts of my collection!

The 1p and 2p pieces, one 2p is a clipped planchet where the head of the press hasn't struck the coin properly and it chopped off the edge of the coin. The other 2p was used by accident in a 1p press, and the 1p was used accidentally in a 5p press which was also struck on an angle. The 10p is a broad strike as does not have the collar press, it is also struck off center and at an angle causing the coin to buldge outwards.

The rest of my coins are just circulation coins from various countries spanning various periods of time ranging to the 1900 however they're just stashed in a box and it would take far too much time to get them all out and photograph them.

I figure when old bills like that turn up they are usually from someone's dead relative who stuck it in a drawer years ago and the person who found it just didn't know. When I was a cashier I came across a number of old bills from the 30's and 40's including a $50.00 bill. Once where I worked some idiot paid with 30 Morgan dollars. The cash office manager scooped those up real quick. Wish he would went through my line.
