Based on the board, I'll assume these are in JP only? Are the gashapon toys or something? Can't find anything via Google.

You mean, like Takara's pre-Transformers? I don't collect them, but for nostalgia's sake I'd love to get my hands on some Diaclone or Machine-Robo (Japanese Gobots), if only the prices would go down to a reasonable level.

My dad used to call my transformers Gobots when I was a kid. That was before I realized how cool he was lol.

I always thought Go-Bots to be a bit....errr.... well, gay. The cartoon was awful too. Transformers, the 1st generation were very cool. In fact up to the movie (the 80's one) they were cool. These days they're just plastic crap.

Yeah I'm not a gobots fan either, but I still find it interesting that my father even knew what they were.

That's true. Pretty cool in that respect. My dad used to call them "those robots"

The newer microman toys are cool. Transformers are actually microman and diaclone, two toylines with transforming robots, combined under one branch. Diaclone was scaled down toys, microman was robots that lived in our world but were small, some transformed (such as megatron or soundwave). they were real world scale. Hasbro bought the rights to both, put them as transformers, then takara followed suite. Incase anyone didn't know that

I recall reading in a forum or comments section somewhere, about a dude that had a huuuge microman collection, and his wife tossed it all without asking him, because, I cite, it was childish and wasted space.

Who the fuck judges like that, and does shit like that??
    Man, that must really suck...

I had a similar experience Xwerdo. As we were uberpoor as kids a church dropped off a few bin bags full of toys. Mostly Lego, Kenner Star Wars Figures, He-Man, one of the micromen spaceship things with gun grips and triggers on the sides and a dozen or so original Action Man figures with hair and moving eyes etc. I also had a lot of G1 Transformers original issue I bought every 6 - 9 months or so of saving/nagging. I kept the lot in pretty good condiiton even though I played with them but my mum binned the lot... and then she bought a couple of Enchantica items (which I have since broken) as an investment... Even a handful of items from the lot would have been worth more today than the stuff she 'invested' in grr!

    -_-

If you fancy a laugh though here is a pic of me one Christmas with one of the last Transformers I ever got as a child - a brand spanking new G1 Transformers Turbomasters Thunder Clash. I also had Flash and Scorch Turbomasters at a later date and he lead them into battle.. against Optimus Prime and Grimlock etc ROFL.

I hate it when people just throw shit out. I had almost 40 boxed N64 games and I took them out of the boxes and cleaned them. Well somebody took one look at them and since they were empty binned them. Didn't even ask. I also had a big treasure trunk full of Hemen ghostbusters toys cars allsorts that got given away to a cousin and since destroyed. Basically the only toys I have no I had when I was a kid is my wrestlers.

It's better that your toys were thrown out than what I had... an asshole of an older brother who melted my entire He-Man collection (1st edition nearly complete) in the oven. Just being a douche, no real reason or provocation.

You look so... English! Awesome pic. Pretty cool.

My mum does the opposite thing, compared to everybody else's mum. She keeps everything. EVERYTHING. There are boxes of my old toys, works and drawings from kindergarten and the such, and my older brother's and sister's stuff are probably around somewhere.

I was more of an airplanes and space things kind of kid, and I went into a computers and video games phase like at 8 or 9.
so ... too bad, I didn't have micromen for her to not toss, I guess.
