It's a type of automated milling/machining process. I don't do it, but I must admit I'm curious what this could be for.
I used to do industrial design, including CNC machine programming a long, long time ago. Just curious if you were looking at 2D water/laser/plasma cutting (e.g. flat case mods) or 3/4/5 axis milling (e.g. controller mods).
I've done cnc lathe turning and 3 axis milling, but I dont' have access to the machinery anymore. Curious to know what this is for
i only know how to make CAD Drawings. so many bored days at my dads filled with making random CAD drawings and estimating the time it would take a design in the CNC machines he uses at work:033:. been doing it since i was 10. I am curious as to what this is all about though
I've done a little bit of CNC stuff in high school, but my dad has been in the machining trade for nearly 15 years. I've gone to his work before where they have the big machines, and it's really cool to see.
they used to scare the shit out of me when i was 8 or so. wasn't a fan of a loud noise filled shop. Its amazing the amount of coolant one machine must go through in a day though :katamari:
