Anyone else think too many people use Advent Children as their avatar?

It's getting old.

 

I do. It's like yeah it was a cool movie but it's not THAT good.

Not really here... other forums... and not necessarily game forums. I participate in a Japanese (langauge and everything else) forum and there's a lot of them there too.

 

Well, thats casual gamers for you. I'd rather use an avatar of something that never gets old. Like Disgaea! Oh wait, I do. ^_^

It sold out in Japan. I was going to have my wife pick one up, but she went to 4 stores and it they were all out. That's pretty impressive.

 

I think that too many people use avatars period. Why can't we go back to pure text-based browsing? I mean, Lynx was fast to use and you didn't have to worry about any pop-up ads...

 

I knew an FF movie would do well if it was actually related to an overrated FF game.

Ever heard of 'Suspension of disbelief'? Its basicly when a work of fiction, be it a game/movie/book/etc. is able to get the viewer to ignor the minor faults and inconsistencies and feel like what they are viewing/playing/reading is real and for at least a brief time make them feel like they are truly a part of that world. Final Fantasy VII managed to achieve this for alot of people, and as far as im concerned any game that can achieve this on a wide scale basis on its own merrits (that is to say, im not including online games which require many other people to complete the experiance) deserves the respect and admiration that is lavished uppon it.

In other words, I don't find Final Fantasy VII to be overrated at all.
